Will any Republican on this forum step up to the plate and agree that the GOP Congress of 1998 swung and missed? Or were the sexual escapades of a chunky man from Arkansas much more important?

Heather : So lying is more important than putting terrorism out of business?

Is the GOP ever wrong?

Heh. There were claims at the time that Clinton was only lobbing mutlimillion dollar cruise missles at empty Al Qaeda training camps to divert attention. It shows how badly an attack machine can screw up a party. The opposition would have done better to call for more vigorous response to the Al Qaeda attacks, rather than try to ignore them because they were 'distracting' from thier chosen mode of attacking the sitting President.

In retrospect, the token retaliation of the Clinton administration was too little, not too much. But hindsight is 20/20.

The GOP congress didn't halt the bombing of Osama's camp to take the pressure off the sex thing with Monica. Think back dude, He bombed the aspirin plant to take the heat of the sexual incident with Monica. besides people weren't upset with the actual act, it was how it was handled. by this time the American Public were sick of all the stupid incidents that were coming from this Presidential term. By the way, there were numerous times that Clinton could have taken Osama out and didn't. If he had actually acted like a President while he was in office, 911 would have never happened.

John McCain tried to use power of the purse to stop Clinton's war in Kosovo. Now he's accusing Democrats of treason when they try to do the same in Iraq.

It wasn't his sexapades that made people as mad as it was his lying about it and dragging the country thru a whole year of trials before he'd admit it. And it was all the deaths that occurred under his watch that never got prosecuted that made everybody mad. Plus all the scandles that he and the missus got away with! No, the only thing Congress was wrong about was to have put him in prison for some of these things!

it was ridiculous... especially in hindsight...

and while Osama was gone, it seems he had just left, and as far as we know... the closest we have come to getting him so far...
