What does nail polish do to the leaf? How many stomata will there be on top of leaf and on the underside? Will they be open or closed, why?

There will be no stomata on the top - they are on the underside of the leaf.
If it is a sunny hot day, the stomata will be closed. If it is in the evening, or cool and humid, the stomata will be open. The role of the nail polish to make an impression of the leaf to be removed and looked under the microscope to see the status of the stomata.

If it is a dicot leaf, the stomata may only be on the lower epidermis with no stomata on the upper epidermis. The open/closed situation will depend on the environment the leaves were in when they were painted with the nail polish: light=open; dark=closed. Stomata are open when photosynthesis is happening and closed when photosynthesis is not happening.
Nail polish takes an imprint of the epidermis at the time the nail polish is applied. However the stomata are at the time of the nail polish is applied should be the way the imprint appears on the slide.

nop sorry lol i exploit to positioned on nail polish ALOT many years decrease back yet lost pastime! i did use alot of pink even with the reality that...mmmm suddendly i elect nail polish!!! im gonna flow purchase one!!!!
