No, its a republic.....Switzerland has the only true democracy....As far as the war, there will no doubt be a backlash against the Demos....

No; the USA is not and never has been a democracy which is good since there has never been a large democracy that has worked or had longetivity. The USA is a democratic republic. With a democracy, one gets tyranny of the majority and large minorities would have no say in things leaving their only resort to be rebellion.

I'd rather fight terrorism over there. Rather than on the streets of the USA. If liberals get their wish and we pull out of Iraq. Wait and see how long it takes before we are attached here at home again!

Guess you forgot about 9/11 already....it was five years ago.

How do you figure America voted against the war? Just because some don't like it doesn't mean it was voted against as it never came up in a vote. As for democrats it seems like each day the noose gets tighter as they are hanging themselves for sure for the 2008 elections!

are u America ?did u take a vote? if so u didn't call me because if u did i would have told u to go to hell all bush want is for the rest of the world to live like u do free this is not an easy thing to do people have to die to make this possible and just in case u forgot our military is voluntary the only people who don't understand whats going on today are the people who don't have to sacrifice any thing u should be on Ur knees thanking the good lord that u get to live the life u do and don't be so selfish to denie it to the rest of the world freedom is not free grow up please

the demos caved because the see the handwriting on the wall. the president is in comand! Besides America didnt vote to quit in Iraq, they voted to fire Fake republicans RINOS who spend and do nothing while We are being invaded by illegals

It's representative democracy in action (inaction!), yes. Representatives are not required to keep campaign promises, nor to respond to the concerns expressed by thier constituents. They can 'vote their conscience' - though, of course, there may be repurcussions come next election.
