hands down lindstrom the guy takes one the best playes other teams have and makes them look like rookies. he plays a style that most n americans arent used to in a d (not huge checker) but does use his stick in all the right ways think how often he's made a 2-1 look like the guy w the puck has no support and then strips the puck and makes the pretty pass to open man going up ice. rarely out of position reg plays 30 min games. kill entire penilty and still not look tired. He's one of those guys that i would have loved to have seen play against a gresky in his prime. i wonder who would have won that match up with the way he always seems to be in the passing lanes. players like brouder and hasek are awesome too but i think he does more lil things right then any other player across the board. btw how can u come close to puting crosby on this list he hasnt done anything yet its all potentially there but one great year hardly qualifies him as greatest active player. wait till he has a decade of them to crown him great one jr. jagr sakic thorton ect no disrespect to them either their great too but ...

I'll give you ones towards the end of their careers, soon to retire maybe.

Nicklas Lidstrom, Chris Chelios, Brendan Shanahan, Teemu Selanne, Joe Sakic, Ed Belfour, Curtis Joseph, Rod Brind'Amour, and Michael Nylander.

Martin Brodeur has a chance to be the best goalie ever. He needs a few more years. Right now Patrick Roy is in a group at the top (Sawchuk?), and Brodeur is about ready to join them.

Guys like Hasek, Jagr, Chelios probably rank in the top 50 at least all time, but aren't close to the best ever for a career. Hasek, though, might have been as good as anyone ever has been for a few seasons there in the late 1990's. If he played in North America for his entire career, it might be a different story.

Jaromir Jagr: The man plays great two-way hockey, has been the leader in the locker room and let's not forget the five scoring titles. In a twenty-one year period, the only 3 players to lead the league in scoring were Gretzky, Lemieux and Jagr. And we'll add two Stanley Cups to end it.

Currently, the best hockey player still playing is a goaltender. He isn't what he use to be; can't carry the Devils as much anymore as he used to, but if he continues winning 30 games a year could catch Patrick Roy for the all time winningest goalie ever...Martin Broduer.

Crosby has musical wingers and he still wins the race. Wait til he puts a curve on his stick, he'll score 50 easily.

I’m gonna go with an extremely underrated player, Jere Lehtinen. Offense, Defense he can do it all.
