Iran will have a nuclear weapon in 3-8 years according to a recent report. What will they do with it?

Suppose Iran ccompletes a nuclear weapon in 2010. What do you think they will do with it? Will they:

a) Do nothing and just keep it as a deterent against invasion
b) Use the threat of its use to conquer or subjugate some of its neighbors
c) Use it on another country -- such as Israel
d) Give it to terrorists to use on the US, Europe, or Israel

if they develop it, they will likely do what all the other countries (except the US) have done; thump their chests and make idle threats. Pakistan is every bit as corrupt and psycho as Iran and they have been in a hateful dispute with India since they have existed and yet nobody has actually used a nuke. Pakistan is a hotbed of terrorist activity and you would think a prime place for them to get a hold of one, yet nothing.

It's juts not practical to nuke someone next door. Smuggling a nuclear weapon to the US would be damn near impossible and pure suicide. At best , they would have a lightly powered weapon that would simply piss us off and remove any sympathy for us blasting their entire country off the map.

Fact is, regardless of how you feel about any country with nukes, the US is the ONLY country to ever use them.

They will have to test it. In the history of nuke weapons, every test of any weapon, by any country was successful the first time. The threat will be the linkage of Ballistic missile and warhead. If they can build one, the centrifuges are still going, and many, many nukes can be assembled and put on a tactical ballistic missile. Off any countries coast line, and fired from a tramp steamer. Americans are silly if they think they can withstand a three nuke hit in the DC, Boston, NY area. The country would shut down. We could take several more, say on the West coast, and one or two up from the gulf of Mexico. It would be several years before we could quit arguing about what to do, and you can bet that Iran will deny everything, and invite inspectors to verify they had nothing to do with it. They'll prove to everybody that they are innocent. That the bombs must of come from Israel, or Pakistan, or stolen from the Russians, or the US Govt bombed itself.
We have just entered the Gulf of Hormuze with two,( thats 200 attack aircraft, with accompaning battle groups), aircraft carriers. We have a standing Army in Iraq. An AirForce Wing or two in Saud, and another American Force in Afganistan. Since we do not believe a word the Iranians say, and we have agents there, and I'm sure Prz Bush is behind all of this, I would guess, that given the options, killing off the current Iranian govt is the least of two evils. Stock up on water and dry goods folks. It's fixing to get interesting.

If they were smart they would do A , but of course there are people behind the scenes in Iran who want an Islamic Caliphate and a Nuclear Weapon can achieve that , however even if they do get a bomb I believe they are smart enough to wait until they make more then 1 .

They don't need it for (a) since they have a relatively strong conventional defense, and the potential enemies remaining who might invade them have had ample reason to do so for decades, and simply haven't. Options (b) and (c) would invite retaliation from other nuclear powers, which is why you don't see the US or anyone else who already has nukes doing that. So, (d) would be the way to go. It's deniable (why no, all our nukes are accounted for, didn't you hear that the Russians have hundreds they've 'lost?'), so doesn't invite retaliation, and it would help them accomplish those goals they share with said terrorists.

They would undoubtedly launch it against Israel and then call for a Jihad on the part of all Muslims against the west. Theyve already told us what they want to do many times. Theyre not shy about it. They sickly think God is supporting them and that there is no force on earth that can stop them.

With that being said though, Israel is not going to stand for that. Theyve already made statements that if we dont do something about Iran, THEY will.

People had better wake up, this is a new world, not some little war protest, these people are going to kill us if at all possible.

If you want to see the USA glowing green, go ahead and keep the socialists in congress, and put one in the WH, it will hasten the disaster.

The recently disclosed CIA intelligence rewards Iran for stopping their gorilla war against the American occupation of Iraq, and cools the level of the cold war between Iran and the US. The same intelligence was withheld in 2003 to create war hysteria against Iran, in order to make possible a military attack against them and to intimidate Iran by making them believe we would attack them. Barring such an attack, Bush II can attempt to pressure Iran into backing off of Iraq. The CIA releases the intelligence that will support the plans of Bush II. It is not an open democratic institution. For war against Saddam in Iraq it lied with claims of WMD. For the attempted attack against Iran (which now is on hold) it lied about the state of Iranian weapons development. Bush I was head of the CIA, and while he was there crafted a plan for military domination of the region, building underground bunkers in the desert of Saudi Arabia that we still occupy. When he became President, Bush I began to engage his plan by goading Saddam to attack Kuwait by telling him through diplomatic “back channels” the US would not object if he would take over Kuwait (an historical province of Iraq). Once Saddam invaded of course, Bush I unleashed war plans that allowed the US to remain in the region with military forces. As a democracy we cannot trust the CIA to give us truthful information. The elite view in government is that public opinion in a democracy has to be managed and manipulated. Fear of WMD seems to be their preferred method. In fact, Iran is developing WMD. One must question, however, how much of this is a self-fulfilling process resulting from Iran attempting to protect itself against the bullying of the Bush dynasty.
