something great

2007-05-24 13:50:40 · answer #1 · answered by Lost Poet 6 · 0 1

It was his seventeenth summer, Mark had so much to look forward to, three weeks at the lake, a road trip with some of his closest friends, and best of all, no homework. He had meticulously planned for this summer, there was no room for the unexpected, yet it came anyway.
One week into his stay at the family cabin at the lake, it happened. She came into his life like the wind, he had no idea where she came from or where she was going, but like the wind, she was full of uncertainty.

*writes something great*

His mesmerizing azure eyes locked with my own.

I had only seconds to act. Either I could run, or i could surrender. Running meant that I would be hunted down and eventually imprisoned. Surrendering was the better choice. I would probably be spared the miserable hell his idiot followers call a "Heaven Where Reason Is Not Needed". What pathetic fools they all must be.

But just as the words "I surrender" were about to escape through my lips, I saw something. That something turned out to be a someone. A someone that saved my life.

"It's time for you to pay," he whispered quietly.

Luckily for me, I was not the one who 'payed'.

Weird, right? I just wrote this. What it's about, I don't know. My fingers typed the words up. I can't control them, so if this sucks terribly, don't blame me. =)

In a haze, Burt awakened only to feel the cold damp pavement beneath him, and then, he hears a voice, “that looked awkwardly painful, you eat **** good mister.” Burt opened his eyes and it would appear that a very small man just told him he is good at eating feces.
“What just happened?” said Burt.
“Well from my view you fell from a black dot in the sky and landed right where you are now, your not as flat as I might have expected.” Said the rather stumpy man who happened to be wearing a Vikings hat. “Who are you by the way?”
“I uhh…. Am not sure, I don’t remember much at the moment, where is this?”
“Your way out o it, arnt cha? Whatev, I might be a little freaked after something like that. Your in the city of burgers, the burger city of burger man burger!” The man got suddenly incredibly excited, “He’s the best!! He makes incredible meatloaf!!”. He was now bright purple and looked as if he might explode. “COMON!!! I’ll take you to go get some!! You will love it!!!”
The purple Viking grabbed Burt and rushed him in the back of a cart. “Who are you?” Burt says as he gets shoved around.
“I’m the taxi service for peoples around here, I know most. Maybe, they never talk much too me so I might not know. Call me Hugle Hopfle, or just Julbger if you prefer.”
Burt half understood what Julbger said, not that it seemed that important. “Well Julbger, I’m a little unsure of who I am right now, all I remember is that my name is Burt”
“What a crappy name, you musta gotten teased a lot as a kid, ya know, hey burts on fire caus hes burt! Heh heh, know what I mean?!”
“Uh no I really cant say that I do.”
“Oh, well you probably shouldn’t as it is anyway.”
The cart rolled down the road, the source of its energy apparently coming from two rather large furry cockroaches, except they didn’t look to much like insects, more so like six legged teddy bears, actually they were rather cute. Burt took the time to take his first real look at his surroundings. From the ground level of his view, the place looked like old London, cobblestone roads and brick buildings, but as he looked upwards towered the sky, which he could only partially see, for the brick buildings soared vertically and even managed to bend and curve around other buildings so that the effect was given that of traveling under a forest grove, but the branches being the distant structures in the air.
“How tall are these buildings?”
“Indefinitely tall, nobody seems to remember when they were built. Oh and I wouldn’t stare at them for too long if I were you.”
“Why is that?”
A brick flew down and crashed on the stones barely missing Burt’s head.
“That’s why, I guess they don’t like it very much.”
For the next few minutes Julbger babbled on about how the buildings would probably love the burger man’s meatloaf, every now and then pausing to power slide around a corner. The locals seemed to be accustomed to this as they rolled aside as soon as the sound of Julbger’s voice approached. Soon enough Julbger turned into an alley way, and skid to a halt after reaching a dead end.
“GETSA OUTSA!!” Julbger screamed.
Burt, having nearly twitched out of his frame, rolled out of the cart.
“Leaving! Uhh…. Yes leaving now.” Julbger stuttered awkwardly. And at that moment he pulled out a large neon green sphere threw it at the ground, creating a Japanese cartoon looking cloud and vanished.
Burt now found himself alone in the alley way, except it appeared the way they had come in was now a rather unpleasant looking brick wall. Unpleasant coming from the fact that that “NOOOOOOO AHHHHHH!!!” was written in large red dripping letters on its side. The only light illuminating his surroundings was the large multicolored neon sign to his left. It stated “well there you are, come in mofo.”. Burt, considered how his day was going up until this point, then entered the steel door placed beneath the sign.

"Something Great"

sometimes at night i wonder
where my life will take me next
i have dreams of something great
but in the morning as the alarm clock
sets the radio to classical music
and the dogs begin barking
to rise me from my reveries
i realize greatness has not quite
come my way, yet.
