It's a coin flip.

Go with the basic five tools: Hitting? Sizemore. Hitting for power? Sizemore. Speed? Reyes. Better Arm? Even. Defense? Reyes.

I'm just happy to have BOTH of these great players on my Yahoo team :)

First of all you are talking about two of the best young players in the game and both with an unbelievable future if they stay healthy. Anyone can look at the actual numbers for both players and try to make something of it. I believe it comes down to this; Sizemore has a little more power, right now, and Reyes has more speed and both are good defensive players and will hit for average. Sizemore has leadership qualities, like Jeter and is a quality person to have on your team. With that being said, Reyes may have the best up-side possibilities of anyone in the game. He has pop in the bat and could be in the 25-30 homerun range in a few years and steal 60-90 bases. I believe you would have to go with Reyes over Sizemore during the next five years. Being an Indians fan you won't like this response.

Very close but the answer is Reyes. He's the most dynamic player in baseball and a little more consistent than Sizemore. He sets the table better than anyone in baseball. He's the fastest player out there and can single handedly change a game. If he gets on first base you can pencil him in at second base. When he's on first the pitcher is so concerned with him that often times the pitcher will miss his locations. Plus he plays SS and is a fantastic fielder, superb arm and great range. Both players are getting better still, but I think Reyes is better.

Jose Reyes, lets compare stats

Batting Avg- Reyes (.316) Sizemore (.273)
Home Runs- Sizemore (8) Reyes (2)
Runs Batted In- Reyes (23) Sizemore (22)
Runs- Reyes (38) Sizemore (37)
Stolen Bases- Reyes (26) Sizemore (15)
Fielding Pct- Sizemore (.992) Reyes (.989)

So Reyes wins in stats 4-2, of course Reyes' fielding % is more impressive because SS is a harder position to play than CF.

Sizemore has advantage of hitting the ball with more power than Reyes as far as HR catagory goes; Reyes will steal more bases than Sizemore but I give slight edge to Sizemore over Reyes. Reyes will hit more triples but then I think Sizemore will drive in more runs so my answer would be Sizemore but not by much.

Jose Reyes

They're both outstanding players that play different positions, so I'm not sure how we can compare them defensively. They both play premium defensive positions and play them very well.

Jose Reyes is off to an unbelievable start this year that I'm not sure is sustainable, at least at his current pace.

Reyes 2007: .316/.396/.492, 143 OPS+ in 212 PA
Sizemore 2007: .273/.388/.459, 130 OPS+ in 206 PA

Base Stealing (Career):

Reyes: 182-for-224 (81.3%)
Sizemore: 61-for-78 (78.2%)

I'd have to give the slight edge to Reyes at this point - he plays the most difficult position defensively, has above average ability in the field, and has great hitting and baserunning numbers.

Although I wouldn't mind having them both on my team!

both are different type of players. reyes is a great fielder and really quickand he has a high average. sizemore is a power hitter and he would do real well if he was put in the middle of the linup. but i still think reyes is better

In my opinion I would have to say Grady Sizemore. He can hit as well as play great defense in center field. I don't think that Jose would give up his body for the team that often.

Jose Reyes is by far the better player. You are talking about a man who currently leads the MLB in stolen bases. He hits for average and has great power for a shortstop.
