Hi, I took the SATs for the first time and I'm kind of confused on the way it works and was wondering do you add only the math, critical reading, and writing, and forget about the multiple choice and essay?? Also if my score is good enough?

Critical Reading 480 41%
Math 450 27%
Writing 430 27%
Multiple Choice 40 (score range: 20-80)
Essay 8 (score range: 2-12)

You add your critical reading, writing and maths marks together.

Sad to say, your total SAT I score of 1360 is below average. The average score is 1500. You should retake SAT I again.

First improve your maths by at least 140 points. This will bring to the average score at least.

In the meantime, you can pursue at the local community college or associate degree. I know for adelaide university in australia, you will need at least 1540. Hope you do better next time !

Good luck!

Add all 3 sections together. Your total score is 1360/2400. Whether that score is "good" or not really depends on the colleges you're looking at, but as stated above they could be better. I would suggest taking a course or buying some prep books (Princeton Review is good) before you retake the test if you decide to.

Your scores are below average. Certainly you can't "forget about" any part of the test. However, your scores are good enough for your local community college.

But why are you aiming to be just "good enough?" You should be aiming for excellence. In this complex world "good enough" will NEVER be good enough.

I agree with the people, your scores are a little..well...a lot below average. It is good enough for a community collage but wouldnt u want to go to a good collage..not saying communtiy is bad and all,,,i jsut think we should aim for good, campus state university collages. Dont aim for good enough...aim for excellence.

what grade are you in? if you are a senior, i'd recommend a community college after hs graduation to ramp up some of these scores b4 heading on to university.

not sure about what gets tallied into the overall score.
