Speak up! You can start by letting your Congresspeople know what you think--you can find their e-mails here:
house.gov
senate.gov
But--is posting on Y/A going to solve problems?
Very likely yes! No, I'm not crazy. :)
In any free society, a critical component of self-government is what historians/poitical thinkers often call the "polis" (from ancient Greece) or the "civil society." Unfortunately, today we often view political participation as extending as far as teh voting booth--maybe a letter to a politician--but no further.
It was not so in 1776--or for most of our country's history. An intense political "discourse" among ordinary people--on the street, in meetings, in churches and taverns--was the rule, not the exception. And out o fthose conversations cam both new ideas, clarification, understanding--and political action on the part of the citizens, not jsut special interests.
We had all but los tthat crucial discourse in America in the decades since its last great outpouring inthe civil rights/Vietnam era. A silence--a silence deadly to freedom.
Those cctv's--where was the public discussion? The objections? Nothing--just the overpowering silence of apathy as liberty erodes away.
The Internet-not just Y/A--has re-ignited that all-but-extinct discourse--and with it a growing awareness that other people of like mind to your own (whatever your concerns) are out there and do care.
But the Internet is only a tool. Use it for more than jsut talk. Ues it to reach our political leaders. Use it to organize. Use it to disseminate information. Use Y/A or any other forum--but don't stop with talk.

Out of 6 billion plus people living (and dying) everyday, I don't think Yahoo! Answers would or could solve world problems by posting a question.
No Government is Perfect. It's been proven throughout History. Hence, History always repeats itself.
Yahoo! Answers is an excellent tool to voice your own opinion even when your opinion can be at times, invalid. However, It does not have all the Answers to solve all our world problems. Hence, there will always be more questions than the answers and sometimes, our answers cannot be the best answers at all.
It can also be that the best answer is not to answer a question, depending on what the person is asking.
Posting a question is easy, but answering it, can be very tricky and it can also be, very dangerous.

No, we won't solve the world problems on Yahoo, but it sure is interesting to see the comments that are left.
If we could get a better voting turnout in this country, maybe things could be different. But apathy is a big part of the US culture. We have everything, therefore we want nothing.

Rumour has it that New McLabour don't even trust the CCTV operators and are making plans to have them watched.
Seriously I use this place instead of ending up in jail by doing what I'd really like to.

In some techniques it does and if it would not that's an stunning thank you to have interaction with others and detect what something of the worldwide is questioning, whether we agree w/ them or not. Plus for some human beings, it might desire to save them from committing suicide or do away with emotions of melancholy and lack of self assurance.

the time for war will come brother. All we can do is sit on our hands until the time comes to rise up and strike.
Questions need to be asked to stir the thought of freedom within most of the worlds sheep.
Keep yourself and your loved ones safe and prepare for war!

Sometimes awareness helps people sort out issues. I have learned a great deal on this blog.
To do so, however, one must read opposing views, not just supporting views !
