It's awful when your cannot rest because your mind wont.
It's both physically and emotionally draining.

Eric, I try to make some decisions; even if it is "I will think about this tomorrow".
Even minor decisions like these help me feel better.

Sleep?????
Soundly????
You got to be kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No such thing in my life...
I deal with pain every 5 to 6 hours...
Intense pain that I have to take medication for...
I usually am lucky if I catch cat naps...
I would give anything for a whole night of uninterrupted sleep...
With all my napping in the night and day, I never feel rested or energetic...
It is indeed a miserable way to live...
I have a family member who also, like me, lives in pain a lot and hates to be bothered by a ringing phone, or people at the door selling things...
Right now my husband snores too and I have to leave the room to find peace elsewhere in the house...
Sad sad sad...

I'm usually a pretty light sleeper. However, it depends on how much alcohol I've had. The more I have to drink the better I sleep.

I've heard NyQuil works wonders, but I'm not really a fan of sleep aids. Thus, I'll instead go for a swim and completely exhaust myself so that I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

I always have to read a book or watch tv to get off to sleep, stops me from thinking, otherwise the thoughts just keep going round my brain.

relaxation exercises....
visualize your "calm place"-- think of a place that you are always happy.... "feel" the textures, "smell" the scents....
lie back & breathe in & out deeply; as you breathe out, visualize your troubles being blown into a big yellow balloon; when it is full, imagine you let it go- "watch" it drift away until you can no longer see it

2 bottles of red wine does the trick for me. Or a third of a bottle of Morrison's finest Spanish brandy.
