Hi,
i'm looking to diversify my selection of Christian music artists and I was wondering if you can recommend any good bands that fall more or less into the contemporary, alternative, pop, rock genres.
General guidelines: I'm not a big fan of hardcore/metal/screamy music, and I don't like country music. Here's an idea of the Christian music I generally listen to: Leeland, Starfield, Telecast, Newsboys, Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Hillsong United, Passion Worship Band. As you can see, I really need to find some new bands to listen to (though I love the ones i've listed) because i'm sure there's so much more great music out there that I don't know about! Any suggestions would help a great deal, and i'm open to look into anything you want to recommend. Thanks!

These are some of my favorites...

Pillar, Sanctus Real, tobyMac, Grits, Delirious?, Audio Adrenaline, Family Force 5, Kutless, Jars of Clay, Casting Crowns, Switchfoot, MercyMe, Thousand Foot Krutch, Falling Up, FM Static, David Crowder Band, Matt Redman, Steven Curtis Chapman, Third Day, Jeremy Camp, & Brian Littrell.

And if you're willing to go just slightly out of the box, there's an off-broadway play called Altar Boyz that has a soundtrack out -- basic plot being about a Christian boyband. It's actually a really funny CD as long as you don't get offended too easily.

Hey, I know of some good bands but they are mostly rock or alternative.
Delirious?- Rock
The Afters- Alternative
Relient K- Rock
Under Oath- Hard Rock (screamo)
Kutless- soft rock (I love them)
Casting Crowns- Kinda country/ rock

I have been looking for more also, but I am more into the rock and punk scene. LOL Hope I helped a little bit!
