Since Greenland Belongs to Denmark, Wouldn't make denmark one of the largest countries? Why dosen't get any recognition as one of the biggest countries since Greenland is pretty big?

If Greeland is included, then Denmark becomes the 13th biggest country in the world. Without it, Denmark is 133rd. Russia is still about 8 times larger than Denmark with Greenland included.

I have not compared actual arreas, but Mercator's Projection - the map type used in many atlases - distorts the area of landmasses close to the poles and makes them look bigger. On many maps Greenland looks almost as big as Australia, but if you look on a globe (the only accurate representation) you will see that Greenland is much smaller than Australia.

hmmmm...although Denmark owns Greenland, they obviously share different names. So "Greenland" might be the largest island, but "Denmark" is still that small peninsula.
