The bumper is falling off of one side and a body shop mechanic told me that it's a simple repair that would only take a bumper mounting kit. Is there a particular kit that I have to get?

The bumper is attached to the bumper support. If you want to check and see if the bumper is on the support, take off the bumper turn signal and look inside. You will see two bolts. use a size 12mm socket and try to see if it's tighten up. If not the just tighten the bolt. If the bolts are tight, then check the screw that is by the wheel well. Make sure that's tighten.
If you check all the above and everything seems OK, then you will have to take your whole bumper off.

This will require some more work.

If you need help, email me and maybe I can walk you through it.

You can search car-part.com and find yourself a new bumper, that is if it is damaged. If it's falling off, then you really don't need a mechanic. Just a friend who could help you keep the bumper in place while you screw it back on. =)

Buy some 3M mounting tape and do it yourself. That stuff is strong.
