I'm a redhead, and dark red looks great on me! Try L'oreal "Drumbeat Red" or something similar.

I, personally, wouldn't suggest a red colour at all as it may very well wash you out. If I were you, I would opt for more sheer colours that are more within the pinks family. Also, gloss would probably be best for you than an opaque tube of lipstick, unless you find a lipstick that is sheer enough. However, if you are dead set on the red lipstick, I wouldnt go for anything too bold, as it may compete with the colour of your hair which is never a good look. You should probably go for a lighter, more sheer red shade that enhance your features (hair included) rather than compete with them.

My cousin is a red head and I know she does not wear bright red.I think if you wear a red make sure it is not over baring and I would actually recomend to go into MAC cosmetic store and try some different lip glosses as well as lip sticks and see what looks better on you because it all depends on your skin tone as well. Will you be wearing the red lipstick for night time?If you are it be a good idea for the day time to get something lighter and in a lip gloss form. MAC is awesome and they will help you find the perfect colour as well.

A warm, sheer color w/ slight brown undertones or a neutral red.
ex) brownish red - BeneFit Lipstick in Birthday Suit
neutral red - Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Cherries in the Glow

Check out these brands:
Cover Girl TruShine in Valentine Red
Cover Girl TruShine lipsticks
L'oreal Colour Riche lipsticks
Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks in Love That Red, Scarlet Fever... any of their reds!
Wet N'Wild lipsticks
Bonne Bell VitaShine red lipgloss
Maybelline Moisture Rich lipsticks
play around with the testers, you will find a red that you like and that will suit you.
You can use a sheer red gloss, or a fire engine red, or something softer, like a stain, if you want to go natural.

Well you do not want your hair and lip stick to match. I would go with a gentle pink or even a medium pink. They will shape your face with out drawing attention from the rest of your face and your hair.
Here are some good brands...
Revlon
Smuckers (it sounds childish but they are good)
MaryKateand Ashley (can be found in Claires)
Burts Bee's over a gental pink is really pretty
Here are some nondrug store ones
Victoria's secret
Old Navy Lip Balm
ect
Hope this helped you out:)

Something with an orange, coral, or brown undertone. Purplish reds look terrible on redheads. And stay away from those really dark reds.

you can definitely wear red lipstick, your hair color makes no difference as long as you pick something that matches your skins undertones. for example, if your skin has a yellowish undertone, pick a bright, orangey red lip color. blue and purple based reds (usually very dark, blood colored) work well if you are very fair. if your skin is pinkish, try a magenta-like red. many department stores offer free color consultations. also, try to find a mary kay beauty consultant in your area for a free glamour session. any more questions, please email me.

Probably a coral color, pretty much any brand has this color. I think it would look really good on you!
Good luck!
