I recently got a brand new Zippo. I filled it up today and lo and behold, it won't light. It'll spark a lot but the wick won't light. I have no idea why (I'm not too good with this type of thing) so anyone got anything that can shed some light on the situation?

If it sparks, the flint is good.Look at the wick (The string looking thing inside the windguard). If it's frayed, or not sticking up much, pull it out more (you might need a pair of needle nose pliers) and cut it off even with the top of the windguard (the perforated metal guard).

make sure you have good lighter fluid and some times with mine if you put to much in it will get the wick to wet open it and blow on it to get some to evaporate than try
