Maybe because they never attacked the US in the first place. Has anyone really provided concrete proof that Al-Qaeda actually is a structured terrorist group that had the money and capability to do more than fire a few guns and make a few bombs? Where is the actual proof other than what our mismanaged, misinformed, mistake prone, misfit government has spit out to the population.

Well Al-Qaeda woke the "sleeping giant". First we hurt them by attacking their leaders and training camps. Second, the US intellegence stepped up. Third, the people became more aware. Al-Qaeda is still out there and must have been trying to attack the US but since we didn't hear anything in the news; US forces have stopped their attemps. Remember the CIA does not report their successes over the news.

It's Bush's fault !

It's that evil President Bush. He's responsible for all these years of no attacks. I sometimes lay awake at night, sweating uncontrollably, anxiously wondering when the next attack will come, but Bush keeps preventing it. The tension is building so high, I don't know how I can stand it anymore.

If Bush would just ease up on the terrorists enough so that a few could strike again, then maybe I could rest easier, knowing that it finally happened, and I don't have to worry about some vague, phantom fear.

Why the heck can't we just elect a Democratic President? Then we can have lots of attacks, and I'll still blame Bush.

because they never attacked the US to start with. The 2001 attacks are clear controlled demolition. The aim was to create the pretext for war in Iraq, build permanent military bases to guard oil.

Because operations like that require a great deal of money, planning and time, not to mention the value of surprise. Now we are on the lookout for plots, so it is even tougher. Additionally, we have forced Al Qaida to keep its head down somewhat and re-orient its efforts to other parts of the globe.

Either they are unable, or theyre unwilling.

I doubt they started magically liking us recently so I would have to say theyre going to plan something else. Theyre probably just waiting for the right time for us to let our guard down. You know, when a democrat is in office!

What are you talking about? They've been attacking us every single frickin' day!

How many soldiers have been killed so far? They have no reason to come over here and attack when we have provided them all the targets they need over there.

Wake up.

They promised attacks of increased size and severity and 2001 really went way too well for them. I am sure they have had grand plans but attacks of that scale are hard to pull off and easy to foil. From their point of view it would have been a better strategy to start off with small local attacks across America.

Great question!

Why didn't they attack the US in 2001?

Over 3000 Americans dead from suicide bombs since 2001.

I would say you are wrong.
