Cyndi Lauper and Kiss define the 80's because they represent the attitude of teenagers during those years and the emotions that they had. Cyndi Lauper sang "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" and "Time After Time". Kiss sang "Detroit Rock City" and "Rock & Roll All Nite".

Ozzy was always waiting for the album that would skyrocket him to the status of being a great artist.

Personally I think that all the bands of the 70's are great but unique in their own way. There's no one quality that a certain band has that could make them the best.

"Alternative rock" is essentially an umbrella term for underground music that has emerged in the wake of the punk rock movement since the mid 80's. Three bands representing this genre are Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and R.E.M.
