I'm looking for a cheap battery powered (AA or AAA) mp3 player. It would be for use at my camp (we're allowed music players, but they can't require a plug, only batteries). What can I get for low cost (in case it gets lost or ruined) but still fairly good quality? Low cost (which still seems to much for me) is at most $60.

Thanks!

You could get a number of different devices. I know that Coby (not the greatest brand, but their devices do work and some actually look pretty cool) has a couple of different ones that have between .5 and 2 gigs that you can get for around your price range. I believe that most worked on 2 AAA batteries (that I have seen). There are ones with rechargeable battery packs, but they tend to be a tad bit pricier.

Check out Tiger Direct (www.tigerdirect.com). They have a wide variety of MP3 players, some of which are on sale for less than $50 and most (I believe) are battery powered.

If there is a Tiger Direct store near you, you can just go & pick one up. If there isn't, you can order it online. Bought mine a few years ago & use it when I travel for work. It's only 256Mb, but it's enough, and it's also used as a personal recorder and FM Tuner. Got it really cheap from Tiger Direct! Good luck.
