Roman Times = Tempus Romanorum, literally, 'Time of the Romans'

Julius Caesar had many titles - never that of Emporer. Although he is the first in the line of Emporers, the title was not used during his life.

He was elected Pontifex Maximus = highest priest

He was elected Consul = Somewhat equivalent to a cross between President and Speaker of the House.

He was given the title Imperator by his troops = a war leader legions would follow.

The Sentate granted him the title Pater Patriae = Father of the Fatherland.

Tempus Romanus -- literally, this is "Times Roman." In Latin, you would put the noun befor its modifier.
