People can only vote once in the presidential election. Also, You have to be 18.

American Idols can vote multiple times and a large demographic will vote over and over again. They youngsters (10-17) are able to vote and they do.

Also, you can vote from the comfort of your own home. You don't need to go anywhere or leave work to vote. This is another deterent for people to vote.

That is not true, American Idol said that 74 million people voted, in 2004 110 million people voted for president.

That is not a true statement. There are more votes cast for American Idol only because you can vote more than once. Plus the way to vote is so much easier for AI than for a presidential race.

Jury Duty
18 Years or older
Pay Taxes (Well, you have to pay taxes no matter what.)

To vote for American Idol you need:
A Phone.
