None of them stand for what I believe in:
#1 Going after the terrorists
#2 Stop illegal immigration
#3 Gun rights
#4 Lower taxes
#5 Smaller government
Why is it so hard to find one candidate who represents all of these common sense ideas? Some of them stand for some of these things, but not all. I'm not going to settle for the the "lesser of 2 evils". Either they have to support everything I listed, or I simply won't vote for them.

evans_michael_ya: No Ron Paul does NOT support going after the terrorists. I checked. He would rather us sit and wait to get hit again.

The Candidates for BOTH parties at the moment are all current or recent members of Congress !!
The Republicans have pissed me off by acting like fast-spending Democrats with religion... and the Democrats haven't done a damned thing THEY "promised" in the 2006 elections.
After 15 years of service in the Navy, I'm actually getting close to supporting a coup !!

What we see today is a classic representation of political "Flavor of the Month Club"ism. It has been 40 years since we last saw sincere politicians trying to help better the country. Presidents? Not a one, after JFK. Congress? Don't make me laugh! In the world of absolutes, what we see is a government of the people, by the people, and for the lobbyists. Maddison & Wall have bought the government. End of story.

You know I was thinking the same thing today, and it's not just on one side but both. I starting to believe that all the mud slinging that goes on and dredging up the past prevents people we need in office from running.

Because they are the same candiates we rejected in 2000 and 2004.
8 and 4 years later, doesn't make them look any better.
Since candiates know, regular voters don't generally vote in the primaries.
They tend to shape their messege to appeal to the left and right wing extremist.
Thats why we hear the huge sucking sound, of candiates from both parties moving toward the center, right after their parties conventions.

You haven't been listening closely to Ron Paul...that's EXACTLY what he stands for.
Edit: Check again. He was, and still is, all for finding Osama. He was against attacking Iraq as a diversion. Just because he agrees with the 9/11 Commission about our foreign policies DOESN'T mean he believes anyone should be allowed to attack us.

I'm not a Republican at all, but you have at least 8 virtually fascist candidates in that party to choose from, all of whom believe in all five of your tenets. (I'm giving McCain and Ron Paul a pass as not being fascist.)
So what is your major malfunction that you can't get behind a Hunter, a Tancredo, even a Romney, not to mention the rest?

you won't find any of those qualities on either side of the aisle...democrats are now outright socialist fascists and republicans are the lib dems of 20 years ago...it won't get better until the next revolution....
