Well I guess I may be lazy but I just want to know if ancestry.com is free and how do you use it to find family info and how do they find the info?

You can ask for a free trial, but no, it is not free. Sometimes they will give you a 3 day trial period without a credit card number, but most times they ask for your number. It's a good way to research old family records, old census, etc. but it is not free, except for the trial period.

In the UK you can use it from public libraries and record offices. Ancestry also have promotions sometimes, I once had a one month free membership.

The facilities are well explained on their site. I certainly found a lot of documents during the month.
