rivers "form meanders" due to several factors........ the lay of the land, gravity, obstacles. Water will seek the easiest path from high to low.
chunks of tea leaves in a cup on a carousel will go to the edges because of centrifugal force. A stirred cup's leaves will go to the bottom center.
