As the name "physical" suggests, he is going to check that everything "physical" is working properly. This is everything from eyesight and hearing to reflexes and the like. Most guys are apprehensive about the "ball check" as most guys dont' understand what's going on. They aren't there to check you out, althought any abnormal findings could lead to further investigation, the main thing is that they are looking for a hernia. This is when part of you intestine pushes through your abdominal wall. It is especially preveland in boys as they go through puberty and can lead to a host of injuries. Coughing causes any protrusion to be more apparent. He will also check you balls for growth and any abnormalties, he might even teach or ask you to do a self exam on your scrotum to check for early onset testicular cancer. In some cases, if the doctor feels it's needed, they may do a prostate exam as well, although this is rare for teen physicals. Most physicals are relatively painless and over quite quickly. It is a great time to ask any questions that you might have about puberty or your own development etc. He can assure you that you are "normal" in all regards and set some of your anxiety at ease.

Its pretty set in stone, you gotta pull your pants down. The doctor will put 2 fingers on the left side of your balls and make you turn your head to the side and cough. The same thing will be done to the other side. It is am embarassing thing to go through as a young boy, becaue this person is most likey the first person to see your penis since your mother. And yes, their hands will be cold.
Just hope, if you get a female doctor, you can keep your wood under control.. because that can be the most akward moment in your life.

They have to check for irregular bumps or any thing that's not supposed to be there. The doctor never squeezed but just felt around. The Doctor said for my Mother to wait outside. I am pretty sure you Mother will wait outside. I was scared and I don't know about any one else but I felt some what violated. I got it when I was 16. All it is is just checking for irregularities.

nothing much. The doctor will look up your nose, in your ears, in your throat. He will check your blood pressure and listen to your lungs, he will ask you a few questions. Really, it is no big deal.

look in your ears, nose, mouth, throat... test your reflexes. probably give you a shot or two. answer questions you might have. and then finally they check your balls and penis
