Absolutely !

Every Culture throughout all of history has been yearning for it. Several cultures use their term for "Peace" as their normal greeting.

We have seen a change in the way enemy nations have treated the loosing side.
Pillaging, looting, tribal nations being completely wiped out - they were standard proceedures before.
With the League of Nations and later, the United Nations, many winning nations not only didn't take land, but helped raise those countries to be great powers afterwards.
(Germany and Japan were smoldering and then helped to be indutrialized exporters within 10 years of WW II.)

We have poured megabucks into taking care of animals and plants few of us have ever seen(whales, Polar seals), just to take care of our environment ... even taking care of the ozone layer that no-one has ever seen.

There is not as devistating a difference between income levels within a nation anymore. 150 years ago, the poorer class had a much shorter life span and a greater infant mortality rate.

As bad as the world is at the moment, there are individuals, groups and blocks of nations that are endevering to make this world a much better place.

World Peace?
That was God's goal when he put us in Eden and I don't think he'd change his mind just because a couple of kids thought they'd take dietary advice from a talking snake. God is much more of a loving father than that.

Possible. Anything is possible. The USSR broke up peacefully without a shot being fired, the Berlin Wall came down, South Africa transitioned peacefully to a democracy and there is now even peace in Ireland. Miracles happen. It is not impossible that Israelis and Palestinians will embrace as brothers and sisters. They would be WAAAY ahead to do so. But...not likely.

Not likely soon, or in our life time! This is the sad truth. The world is full of war hungry people and killing is a daily habit like making toast for some people. Answer would be less people and more talking would be the way. Maybe World War 3 or 4 might do it.

I don't think so. Whether it is peace among nations, or peace among individuals, neither goal can be reached. Simply because of human nature, we feel the need to cause problems when we feel jealousy, and we must begin conflicts when we've been hurt, or we want to feel the power that comes with victory.

Its a lovely idea, but sadly impossible :(
It's all a matter of human nature, which fall into two catagories. Dominators and the Dominated.
So long as there are those with dreams of grandure and habits of agression there will be no peace. shame really :(

Yes. it is, and has been predicted for some time in which more recent material has come true.
Look out there. Obviously there must be some changes first. What do you think they are? You are seeing some of them come now.

No, I don't think so because there is always selfishness within humans. Ultimate sharing is needed among humans in order to achieve world peace.

No.

Each culture have their own specific way of living, and all seem to be easily offended when change is presented as an option for "betterment" Silly things escalate into giant resentments, eventually causing wars.

Well, really it depends. If we stop the wars and all that other stuff then the world will be more peaceful and we will all work together.
