i heard that if u run the red light and get caught by a camera for the first time in california, that they only send you a warning.. is that true??... is there a website to find out if u get a fine or a warning???

Unfortunately this is not true. California has a law that does require I believe a 30 day grace period after a camera system has first been installed. So if you run a red light in the first 30 days after the camera is installed you will get sent a warning. After the 30 day grace period, only tickets are issued.

Sorry, totally untrue. I had never had a moving violation in over 15 years of driving until I got one in the mail from one of those cameras. I was making a right turn on a red light and stopped just past the white line. Over $300 for that first offense. This was in Orange County, CA.

I've never heard of just getting a warning. You run the red light, they take your picture, you get a ticket in the mail with the picture. End of story. You can always check out the dmv website though.

Each city is different. Some are more hard up for money than others. Keep your sun visor down. If they can't identify you, they cannot cite you.
