Because I hear a hard thud on the mat when wrestlers get body slammed or a pop when they,also,get thrown into the turn buckle,and a metallic crack with a metal chair convinces me they get hit with it ,also .

I'd say about 25% of the population still think Professional Wrestling and Sports Entertainment are 100% legit sports, and totally unscripted and "Real".
Back before the 1980's I'd guess that number would be more like 60%- 70%. Back in the 70's my mom used to cry when the heels beat the crap out of some babyface with a kayfabed injury.
Kayfabe had not been broken bad since I believe it was 1939, and most people had just forgotten it had been, or had been raised by people who didn't want to spoil it for the next generations.
Now those that believe it's all legit and nothing is worked..
Well folks thats what those of us who have been in or around the ring used to commonly refer to as Total Marks or Rubes.
Aka Idiots.
When McMahon publicly admitted what many suspected it hearkened back to Abe Lincoln ( who by the way wrestled in carnivals and fairs..)
"If you once forfeit the confidence of your fellow citizens,
you can never regain their respect and esteem.
It is true that you may fool all the people some of the time;
you can even fool some of the people all of the time;
but you can't fool all of the people all the time."
And so it has gone with Wrestling.. but some people.. Are just fools.

Whether or not it's real is immaterial. Some people just want to see guys beat the heck out of each other. In other words, they want to be entertained. Scripted or not, they have fun watching this stuff.

That is why they call it world wrestleling entertainment, it entertains you. Besides, not all of it is fake, some of the shots are real. The only people I know that belives it are really young, but they will start noticing that it is not all real.

Does it really matter that it is scripted. I know it is and i watch it anyway.It is entertaining. Read HBK's book. Many times in there it says that wrestling is fake. WWE let him publish the book so obviously they had nothing to hide

cause some people are just...wierd.
Its not all fake, though. Its, obviously staged, scripted, and rehearsed, but the bumps are quite real.
I know this has been said many times, but most people that believe its real are like 3-13 year old kids.
They'll learn soon enough... :]

When no one speaks to you about the true aspects of pro wrestling, there's a good chance you'll think it's real.

Breaking news: 95% of fans don't. The other five percent are either children or people who are too stubborn and/or stupid to think otherwise.
