I think (hope) most women are really friendly and not catty at all.
And I hope its just a minority of women who ***** about others, like really badly diss (best not use bad language) someone?

Some women come across as so unfriendly but they must be uncommon?

am i right or deluded?? I don't like bitchy catty women

Hi! It would be silly for anyone to say that ALL men or ALL women act a certain way, as we're all individuals (just to state the obvious first). :-)

I think that there are plenty of catty women, but plenty who aren't, too. I hate backstabbing, spite, and disloyalty, as do many of my female friends - we don't b!tch to each other, because we hate that.

I've worked in all-female environments and have found that yes, there is often a tendency towards b!tchiness... but this certainly does not apply to all, by a long stretch.

My boyfriend and his mates, however, b!tch about each other something chronic! Seriously, I just sat there open-mouthed when I heard them at it the first time.

Hope that helps. x

I agree with you, I don't like bitchy catty women, but sadly a lot of women are like that.

I don't know what makes some women really bitchy but its not very nice especially when you are on the receiving end of it.

I think jealously plays a big part in women being bitchy towards each other. The best thing to do is not become involved or listen to it.

When my daughter was in primary school, lots of the mums used to be bitchy about everyone and everything. I kept away from that group of women as I wasn't interested and didn't want to be involved. Thats my way of dealing with it.

What's called bitchy in a woman is considered assertive in a man. It's acceptable for men to say something about someone or to defend themselves but as soon as a woman does it she's being a ***** or she's being catty. It's another stereotype that should go the way of the dodo.

Those who are 'bitchy' or 'catty' are, in my experience, really just 'defending themselves' for some or another BEFORE they are attacked.

It's the desire to attain what seems to a 'higher ground' from which they can defend their position with a believed ease.

I don't believe that 'all women are like that' at all. Just those who have the 'need' to maintain their 'front.

It would seem to me to be just a bloody exhausting position to keep up ....and certainly sad that they feel the need to.

Sash.

Women and men, all have many facets to their personalities and present different facets to different people at different times. Some times, the number of interactions are limited and so only a few facets are presented regularly. Sometimes, some ugly facets are suppressed and sometimes some pretty facets are hidden. There is no truly hundred percent good or bad person in the world.

There are many different reasons why a woman would be bitchy, including her feeling intimidated and threatened by someone. To be fair, there's a little bit of it in all us ladies, it just depends on whether or not you decide to use it!

Nah.
Women are no more bitchy to their friends and colleagues than men are.
We are all a bit competitive. Human nature has a lot to answer for but I think that it's competition that rules how we are to our colleagues and loved-ones, not gender.
This is true for both sexes.

I think that all women can be bitchy. Most of the time it arises due to jealousy. If another woman has a better job, others will find other faults in efforts to bring her down to their level. Also women always tend to compare themselves to others, so any competition will be sorely met resulting in cattyness. But sometimes you just have the need to bi-tch about someone, like when things get on top and you want to scream, you have a good bi-tch instead.
