Just yesterday. I am very poor so cannot afford luxuries. My daughter is very well known and loved on campus at the local university and her graduation is next month.
She knew I have nothing nice to wear for such an important celebration and was worried and mentioned it to her boss. She has 4 jobs at the university. Anyhow, the staff and all contributed into a slush fund for her to take me out and buy me something nice. They did it for HER so she would have her Mother with her for the ceremony but I still cried when she handed me the envelope!
Blew my socks off.

My baker, a 55 yr old woman, who I had just hired did the nicest thing that I know of for me. On her very first day of work we found out we are both diabetics and she asked how often I checked my sugar. I repied that I don't check it because I can't afford the testing supplies and she said she had a ton of supplies (strips, lancets, monitors) at home that I could have. I told her I would give her some $ for it but she refused. After she left work she returned a few hours later with a whole bag of stuff for me! Probably about $400 worth of stuff for me to test my sugars! I cried because I am a college student totally supporting myself with crappy health insurance that doesnt pay for any of my supplies or medicine! She is such a sweet lady!

Hard to select one. Many nice things have been done for me over the years. My parents have constantly helped me with vehicle problems, including cross country trips to retrieve broken down vehicles at inopportune moments. My wife, before we were married, came to hear me speak at church when she didn't have the time to do so. That captured my attention that here was a girl that cared enough to go out of her way to show me that she cared. My sister-in-law gave us money so that we could go down to the family for Christmas. My work one time put me in for an award that eventually gave me a trip to Washington, D.C. and my family pitched in so that my wife could go with me. Family and friends helped me to reroof my house and paint and carpet the rooms.
You get the idea.
