i am an indian too, and i luv to watch basketball too. but not all indians dont, my sisters hate to watch basketball, unless the Mavs play, i make them watch it. lol. so not all indians watch basketball, but some do who is interested in sports and stuff.

It all depend on individual interest. I enjoy watching NBA. Just watched cavaliers lose to pistons 79-76. It's fun but not like when Michal Jordan played for the Bulls.

Er... why should race matter? Or is it because some sports are more popular than others in various countries?
I must say I never saw cricket played as they do it in India! You all are as cricket crazy as Canadians are hockey crazy or Americans football mad. If there is a patch of grass or even a field of mud, kids play their national sport with gusto.
Basketball is another one that crosses nationalities as does soccer.
