The nature of the question itself looks 'attention whorish', but I don't think I'd have called it 'gay'. Though what would you call him out about? You didn't actually ask a 'question' and there wasn't really any test of whether those who responded were either beautiful or intelligent. Basically, you just asked for people to acknowledge themselves, they did, and then you acted as though that demonstrated that you were somehow a meritorious individual.

it wasn't a "gay" question per-say, i would describe it more so as pointless (which more of the questions on here are anyways) and a tad self-centered to those who answered - but none the less a "self confidence" booster so whatever
