If you can yawn then you can sing.

Singing requires breathing. Increase your lung capacity by taking regular exercise. Swimming is good especially if you have to put your face in the water and blow and keep blowing until you have finished the stroke.

Pracitice diaphramatic breathing

Keep your tongue flat when singing vowels, and let the whole world see your tonsil. You will not trill like a thrush if you if your tongue is wandering all over the place. You will probably find that if you concetrate on keeping your tongue flat, your mouth will keep in good shape.

I can only recognise three notes: the high one, the low one, and the one I can sing.

Let's put this all together. Start off with a good yawn, turn it into a note and hold it. Whether you believe it or not, you are singing. OK it is only one note but it is a start. Then try a few doh, me, soh, dohs up and down. Then a few phrases from favourite songs.

Once the novelty has worn off, then you can start singing confidently. You won't be perfect, that will require professional guidance, but at least you will be passable, and you may even be complimented on your singing!

Singing is either something you can do or you can't. I'm afraid that's all there is to it.

However, taking voice lessons is your best bet. You may not have a voice that'll be famous someday, but there's a good chance that you can develope what you have and come out okay.

Reese Witherspoon was told she couldn't sing and never would be able to. I thought she was great in Walk the Line. In other words, don't just give up because someone, including yourself says you can't. Try your hardest first, and then make up your mind :-).

Also, don't tell yourself you can't sing. If you must, say you can't sing *yet* or you can't sing *perfectly*.

Good luck!

Is someone threatening your life unless you sing? If you are as bad as you think, surely they would threaten your life if you did.

Some people just can't carry a tune, or have very bad voices, or are tone deaf, or all three. I don't know of anything that can overcome that. Why don't you just not sing?

In the Sound of Music the nuns didn't sing. Surely in every musical there are nonsinging parts, if you just have to be on stage. Why not concentrate on plays, comedy, or drama?

Nobody sings in Shakespeare, or Noel Coward.

3.start by singing as low as u can without sounding stupid(its ok if ur a soprano)hold that note for a few seconds and move to the next highest note and so on

4.You will notice that the more you practice during hte weeks your voice will be stronger(its kind of like an excercise)

5. Practice as much as you can

6.sit or stand tall with ur shoulders not sagging

7.Pretend ur in front of a crowd and maybe go in front of a mirror

I have this same problem. What helps for me is to listen to the song (or play the notes on the piano) and then sing back exactly what you heard. You will probably notice a slight difference--one that you can change to better your voice.

Also, make sure you're breathing right! Imagine that you are breathing from a nose on your stomach--this will help you to take in just enough air so that you won't run out half-way through a note.

The main problem most people have who say they "can't sing" (anyone can if they can talk) is that they have trouble matching a pitch. You can train you ear by playing a note on a piano and singing along with an "ah" until the two pitches match. Keep doing that and you will be able to feel when you are singing the correct notes. Good luck!

You don't sound tone deaf to me, and I have heard my fair share of actually tone deaf people. You sound like you could use some guidance, maybe someone to help you discover and then explore your range more, your vocal potential. Maybe just a few google searches on techniques for vocalists. Warm up exercises and breathing techniques. These would certainly help you discover what you can do and repetition of anything makes you better. If you could swing even just one vocal coaching session, I would do it if I were you. Otherwise, keep singing, do it all the time. You'll get better, I can hear it that you have potential. I have no doubt you'll find your voice, even on your own.

Here are some of my tips

-Take voices lessons. They can be expensive but if you really love singing its worth it.
-Practice singing in the mirror. It will help you improve facial expessions and help you see what you look like while you are singing.
-Sing in the shower. The acoustics are great.
-Practice a simple song and then sing it in front of a friend or family member. They will be supportive of you and also give you constructive criticism
-Dont complain about your voice to people. All you will get is angry friends/families and tons of put downs.

Here is my best tip. Don't get into a situation where you have to sing in order to save your life.

There are lots of people that cant sing. i think we all think we all can. Look at these talent shows. To me,they are a kick in the crutch because the judges are ..well..I cant put my finger on it.

Look at Geri Halliwell, Victoria beckham. Although Iam a fan of Geri's I dont think she has a great voice but to me, she was so dertimined & focused & she did have success on her own despite what critics said about her music. Victoria Beckham I feel just latched on to the other girls to make her voice sound better & I dont think she can sing.

I say if you are in tune you can sing. you dont have to sound like Britney. If you are tone deaf & told so dont do it!

Iam not a expert on these things & probably get a few thumbs down (like I usually do) but this is what i just think..
