I decided to have a beach/surfing theme for my room. It has a blue carpet and yellowish/beige walls. I can't think of any cheap accessories to emphasize this theme. Like what kind of decor (and i can't spend a lot...less than $100) and where to buy it. I also can't choose between a pink or green chair! I would love to hear ideas from you. By the way, I can't change the carpet or paint the walls in any way.

Seashells, weathered wood (driftwood looking), a decorative fishnet, a colorful beach towel as a wall hanging or "throw" on your bed or draped over a chair or table, framed pictures of beach scenes (sand/water, sunsets, etc).

Use your imagination. ☺

Certainly many valid suggestions, and affordable many places. Have as much fun in the shopping as the decorating.

Fish net hammock in a corner with beach balls, or glass ball fish net floats.

Walmart swim toy area/ Dollar stores/Pier One. It's all about color and animation.

The carpet is the Ocean so the chair color choice can either compliment that and the walls or if you wanted a pale, sherbet color combination in the room, pastel Pink works well with Orange pastel, as well as a light green pastel.

If allowed you could faux finish the walls, sponged or otherwise. It may be that the walls are the actual beach.

Hang a large, floppy beach hat, some Sun Glasses and Flip Flops rather than pictures. Get a colorful beach towel or two to act as drapes. Ceratinly the sea shells are a good idea. Use a large plastic sand pail and shovel.... perhaps even using the pail to actually hold something decorative that relates.

You want a Surfing theme or a "surf" theme IE: THE SURF?

Check local surf shops or locals who do surf to see if any damaged boards are available, no longer useable for actually surfing,,,or get a Boogie board, etc.

YOu can get some posterboard or project foam board and cut them into surfboard shape and then paint them with fun desings, Take sand and put into glass jars and ad tealights to them. Buy a couple bags of shells, from craft or dollar store..
Check out Orientatrading comapny and get some grass skirts and use them as curtins... Hit the thrift stores for hawian shirts and make pillows out of them.
You can also use poseter board and make a palm tree.
Shop around most of this things can be bought in any craft store and on SALE... Oh and Hit the Garage Sales pr flea markets.. You never know what you can pick up for a $1.00 or $2.00..
