With all of the words in the English language, why is 'fat' the most common one used to describe Rosie O'Donnell?

She is many things, some good, some bad. Why, oh why, does it matter so much that she is fat?

Is she not liked because she is fat? Or are 'we'just too lazy and/or ignorant to give a valid argument?

And if she were not fat, what would 'we' say?

It'd the first thing people see. hey don't like her so they attack the thing she is probably the most sensitive about.

It's easy. People who hate usually don't have either the intelligence or the energy to formulate creative or even logical objections to the ones they dislike, so they go for the cheap shots. They're also not smart enough to figure out how this makes them look.
Great question!
If she were not large, you would hear people calling her every derogative term for 'lesbian' in the book.
I think she's disliked primarily because she is so outspoken about things that do not affect her directly. She doesn't pick her battles very wisely.

Because in America, being fat is a cardinal sin. Society deems heavy people to be second-class citizens (espcially heavy women), who deserve nothing but mockery and malice. Its one of the worst societal errors you can unknowlings commit. They call her fat because its easy, its hurtful, and its true.

No....no...you got it all wrong. When fat is referred to Rosie it means that she has a fat-head, fat-mouth, fat-ego. She is nothing more than a big-mouth who spats off about things she knows nothing about. She never backs up her arguments with facts because she cannot. If Imus must go then she must go too. and The View will be taking care of that shortly.

I personally like her, but I think she rubs a lot of people the wrong way and they may not be able to articulate why so they use her weight against her. I think people use any negative things against someone to publicly humiliate them. I think most people who call her silly names would not be able to stand it if someone else was publicly pointing out their flaws and insecurities so good for Rosie for being strong enough to withstand it.
