Jimmy Carter started sanctions against USSR
nearly crippling their economy.
He also started secretly funding Afganistans freedom fighters, a brilliant move of foriegn policy genius that Ron Reagan adopted. This funding kept USSR involved in a very unpopular war, people in USSR were sick of their government when their kids were sent home from Afganistan in body bags.
THIS HELPED PUT AN END TO USSR for which
RONALD REAGAN and the REPUBLICANS took full credit for !!!

That is an entire misquote. What Carter said to the AK Dem. gazette was "I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history."

President Carter is a politician. He said he did not say that and did not mean to say that. That's typical politician mentallity. They have very selective memory and they are always misquoted. May be there was need for someone honest to say exactly that.

Let's be careful here. This may seem like parsing, and it may seem like a distinction without a difference, and maybe it is, but he was criticizing the policies, the administration and the consequences of their actions.

Doesn't seem like there's much else left, but he never came out and personally attacked Bush as a person.

So, no, he didn't say "Bush is one of the worst presidents." Yes, it would be fair to infer he feels that way, since he feels this has been one of the worst adminstrations for their policies, though.

No, he said that Bush had one of the worst administrations ever. Not quite the same thing, nor is it unheard of despite what some pundits would have you believe. George Washington said almost the same thing about John Adams' administration and that was only the 2nd one ever. Although he was more refering to the split that Adams seem to be creating in the country that led to the now almost universal 2 party system that we have now.

He said the Bush administration is the worst administration due to the damage internally and externally caused by it.

Look at all these conservatives who misconstrued what Carter said...they never seem to have their facts straight!
