It was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. They slept together in the hall becasue Sirius Black was loose in the school. Hope that helps!!

its the Prisoner of Azkaban, the third one. Sirius Black was sighted in the school and therefore the students were forced to sleep in the great hall while the school was searched.

Book 3 POA Sirius is loose on Hogwarts grounds...they think he murdered James and Lily at this point. They don't know the rat did it.
