Exactly one week late. Due on Christmas Eve showed up on New Years. Didn't want to come out then either. My water broke and I still had to be induced. She is 6 now and I'm still trying to cut that damn umbilical cord : )

First babies are typically late unless they are multiples then they tend to be early. Don't worry if you are it's perfectly normal and they won't let the baby go over more then about a week.

Congratulations!

I just had my first child may 11th and I had an amazingly good pregnancy. My daughter was due on may 8th so i didnt have her too late. As my due date neared, the doctor began to think about c-section because i had not dropped or dialated at all and she was getting too big. I was stressed about having a c-section with my first child but it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. I guess you anticipate the worst in situations like this. Although i hated being huge and carrying her full term, i am definately lucky to have a healthy baby girl. The only advice i can give is get as much sleep now as you can. In the end it will all be worth the wait!

My son was due on January 14th, 2005 but I started having contractions around 11:30pm on the12th. I had enough time to take a shower and catch a little nap. My water didn't break and my mucus plug didn't fall out; I felt a contraction and since I was bored, I decided to practice timing them for the "real thing"...but it just so happened to be the real thing!! I went to the hospital around 2:00am and I was 3 cm dilated and my contractions were 5 minutes apart.

They broke my water around 8:00am. I felt a lot of pressure like I had to use the bathroom around 10:00am but I didn't want to go until after I had my kid, lol...turns out it was his head and I was ready to push!! I had him almost 2 hours later at 11:34am, weighing in at 7lbs, 3oz, and 17 3/4 inches (he's still a short little guy, lol). I keep wondering if it would have been sooner if I wasn't trying to to hold off on going to the bathroom :-)

I'm about 37 weeks pregnant with my second one now (a girl) and she's due June 16th. So far, 0 dilation, 0% effaced, and she's not even head down yet!! Just a bunch of Braxton-Hicks lately. She's such a diva, lol.

Congrats on your baby and good luck!!

My first was due on 10/14/99. I never had any signs of labor, no dialation or contractions or anything. When I went to the doc on 10/18 he told me the baby was very large for my size and he would like to induce or I would have to have a c section if we waited much longer. So I was admitted to the hospital on 10/19 and induced. I had my son on 10/20/99.He was 6 days late and he was a very large healthy baby!!!!!!! I have no regrets about going ahead with the induction.

I was due on July 12, 2006 and my son came exactly 1 week early on July 5. He was 8 lbs 5 oz, so I'm happy he came early he didn't need to be any bigger. I am 15 weeks pregnant with my second so I hope I have good luck again!

My son was due Nov 18 and he arrived on Nov 15 (2004). My daughter was due Aug 7 and she was born Aug 3 (2006). So the due date was pretty reliable in my case.
Two of my friends were pregnant about the same time I had my son. One gave birth about 3 weeks before her due date and the other went one week past her due date. They induced her but without much progress and finally she had a cesarean.

I am also expecting my first child. The most strange thing that happened to me tht till the end of 3rd month I was not able to know that I was actually pregnant as I didn't have any of the pregnancy symptoms. As we had switched to a new place we thought that maybe bcoz of change in lifestyle my periods are missed. Only when I missed my 3rd period did we goto doctor and to my surprise I found that I was pregnant. But its really wonderful and I am enjoying it. :)

My son was due May 27 2001, I carried him until June 4, at which point I was induced.

My daughter was due about October 8th 2004, I was induced again, and she was born October 5th.

My babies prefer not to come out voluntarily.

I was 38 weeks, at my doctor appointment when my water broke. My doctor checked me, I was dialated at 4, and 100% effaced (The week before I was at 2, and 100%). My doctor walked me across the street. I had my daughter 2hours and 15 minutes after my water broke. It was so fast!!
