Why is is so important to be sexy when you're pregnant? And you're not fat...you're PREGNANT.

First of all, no matter what you weigh prior to pregnancy you must gain weight.

Women who are clinically overweight still need to gain at the minimum 15 pounds, and women who are underweight need to gain more than the average statement of 25-35 pounds, usually at least 10-15 pounds more depending on the severity of the weight problem. These figures are for the healthy woman carrying a single baby. Moms who are expecting multiples will need to gain more weight, although no standards have been devised for these special needs as a whole.

Why gain weight?

Weight gain does things for you and your baby. First of all remember you are growing a new human being. We know that women who deprive themselves of good nutrition during pregnancy tend to have smaller, sickly babies who require more hospital time and have a higher incidence of problems including neonatal death.

True, some women don't get very large when they're pregnant and I'm sorry to tell you, that's an individual thing. They're not dieting, it's genetics and there is nothing you can do about that. If you start dieting to stay slim during your pregnancy, you are risking the health of your child...period.

The best thing you can do is continue (or start) eating healthy, do some moderate exercise under your doctor's supervision, ask him or her what vitamins and/or dietary supplements you may need and just have a healthy pregnancy. If you feel you're gaining too much weight, get advice from your doctor...not a message board. Your child's life is too important to put in the hands of a bunch of strangers on Yahoo.

What do you want to look like? Angeline Jolie when she was pregnant? That's so not realistic. The best thing for you to do is to eat a healthy, well balanced diet with lots of fruits, veggies and protein, and limit your junk food intake. Also, try to exercise at least 30 minutes a day, every day of the week. I have been doing this during my pregnancy, and have only gained 5 pounds at 20 weeks (half way there!) and it's all in my belly.

Now...I didn't start of "skinny" as you say. My pre-pregnancy size was a 16. I'm tall (5'10") and I carry my weight very well. I have a hourglass figure (I still have a waist at 20 weeks!) and I wear very figure flattering maternity clothes. My husband thinks I'm the sexiest mother to be he's ever seen, and he can't keep his hands off of me. I get men turning around to look at me all the time, flirting with me, etc...so it's all in how you carry yourself. I'm not "skinny" but I am one sexy pregnant woman. If you're defining sexy by being skinny, then you're in for some major disappointment. Pregnancy changes you...there's no way around that. You really should try to look at it differently.

well depending on what they shots were for... if you're mom is looking to become a middle aged model, then you better get used to it, or maybe she was taking special pics for your dad. I don't really know the story behind it but I'd ask her what the shots were for, and if you felt uncomfortable being there while she was doing it I personally would let her know so that in the future she wouldn't bring you along. Sometimes (my mom went through this recently) when women hit middle age they stop feeling sexy and have to do things like this to make them feel better, my mom went all out and had naked pics, so feel lucky! lol

Take your prenatal vitamins and eat healthy food and not so much junk food (of course you can still eat some don't ignore your cravings you'll go crazy) just dont pig out on junk food. plus your baby won't be getting nutrition from junk food its more for moms pleasure

also stay active. I'm not saying run or anything you might get hurt but take plenty of walks.

Also something that makes a women sexy is confidence. dont hide your beautiful pregnant belly but be proud of it. wear it with a smile on your face and don't act like your ashamed of looking "chubby"

Everyone is different. Just remember that. I was chubby before, but I haven't gained anywhere but in my belly. When I turn around, you can't even tell I am pregnant. I am having a boy, and have heard that this is the reason why. I am unsure though if that is true. But, you can't worry about if you are getting chunky. Just remember, it is for a good cause. Your baby. And whatever you do, don't diet!

I had baby number three May 3rd and my doctor gave me the best advice and that's to NOT eat for two. Eat your balanced meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner and if you must snack, eat veggies and fruits. Keep your mind and physical busy. I worked until the 2nd and exercised daily by cleaning the house, walking, etc.............It has been 21 days since baby was born, I am back to my size 6 jeans. My belly is still flabby BUT my doctor told me to give it 6 weeks for the uterus to shrink and with continual exercise, it will totally disappear by the time I go back to work.

Eat healthy and exercise (baby-positive) daily. It's perfectly healthy to do light exercises during pregnancy, your doctor can give you a list of workouts that are positive for you and munchkin alike. Don't worry too much hun, just beware the junk food monster.

They probably eat those meals you buy on the commercials that say if you eat their cakes, pasta, and ice cream you'll lose tons of weight. Don't do it though, they'll all probably die in 10 years because who knows what they put in that funky stuff.

"My husband says i smile more now and thats sexy " ^

That's all a guy should want from his pregnant wife right?

If you're just a bit puffy, that's normal, and there isn't anything to be done about it. Just eat healthy food that you enjoy and remember that you're likely the only one who really notices it.

If you're really "so chubby" -- also simple -- stay away from the cookie jar, and go for a swim.
