I worked the nite shift for 2 years----go to the store and buy blackout curtains and heavy dark drapes. That will make the room pitch black---also if there are other people in the house while you are sleeping; put a fan on to drown out any noise they make. I used to stay up for about an hour when I got home then went to bed. Also you can sleep for a couple of hours in the AM then get up and then sleep later in the day----thats only if you require little sleep. Hope this helps---sleep well

The more you do it, the easier it gets. I worked 3rd shift in a hotel for 2 years. It's very hard at first, but you'll discover a schedule that will fit your needs. Good luck!!

It takes your body time to adjust to your new schedule. Use some over-the-counter sleep aid, if you need to.

I had the same problem when I worked nights decades ago. Sooner or later, your body will adjust.
