If it helps you, write out a script of what to say before you talk. Rehearse what you will say before you talk.

I am one of those people who always has the cell phone turned off unless I want to make a call. If somebody wants to talk to me, I let voicemail take a message, and then I call back. I like to be prepared.

You know, I find that once I start talking, I am okay with people on the phone. My problem is just knowing what to say when the conversation begins.

Always will be easier deal with anyone on the phone. They don´t see your face, your eyes!.....That takes away the feeling that somebody is reading your thoughts. The phone is unpersonnal so that makes no feelings involved...I worked as operator in the phone company, when single, and now I´m all the time in the phone talking with customers...is a lot lot easier than face to face,,,,so... pure experience!

Just for the length of the phone call, forget your shyness and talk.
