Yes they will. Marty was a great coach and the only reasons they lost to the Pats last year was because of bad luck. We all know Marty's playoff record but what is Norv Turner's playoff record? He's been head coach in like one or two playoff games. I've seen Turner's bad coaching first hand when he was coach of the Raiders. Some people will say that he didn't have much to work with in Oakland but I recall that people had very high expectations for the Raiders offense when Turner initially came to the Raiders. Everyone thought that Kerry Collins and Randy Moss would be a great tandem. But they were awful and I think it is a reflection of Turner's coaching ability.

People knock on Norv Turner because he hasn't won as a head coach............
look at the teams he's had to work with.
he coached the Cowboys offense in 92 & 93 when, if you'll recall, they won the super bowl.....
he's a hell of an offensive mind....
he just hasn't had an opportunity to truely show how good of a coach he is.
If he screws this up though..............he better just go back to being an o-coordinater
I think that the Chargers will win 12 games and not for a second regret dumping Marty

Norv Turner will make the Chargers' offense even better than it was last year. He'll ride the Schottenheimer wave to an AFC championship game appearence this year against the Colts and unfortunately lose.
But the Chargers will go 12-4 in the regular season and L.T. will go absolutely insane racking up 2000 yards rushing, 1000 yards receiving, and 30 TDs.

It's about time, all Marty did was hold us back. He's a great guy but I'm glad he's gone. There's the old saying that teams take on the personality of their head coach, well look what happened in our last 2 playoffs games. Plus, Marty gave full control of the offense to Cam last year, it was all Cam and Wade. Norv might not have a better record than Marty but he wont choke with this team.
Also, I'm sure AJ Smith let Norv know that all he has to worry about is the offense, the same one he installed a while ago, and not worry about anything else. In essence that's just like being a coordinator, the head coach title is just proper manners.

This is a championship team and Marty was at times much too conservative(we all know his dismal playoff record). Turner will win big in SD and I expect the Chargers to win at least 12 in the regular season in route to the SB.

I think Marty was a decent coach, but Turner's record as a Head Coach is horrible. Personally, I think hiring Turner was a bad move. I think the Chargers have the most talent of all the teams in the league (Patriots #2), but the coaching may hurt them.

I think they'll regret not letting Schottenheimer go sooner. They did it way too late and had to scrounge around all the coaches that no one else wanted. I think they'll go 11-5 and get knocked out by the Pats, again.

yes, this was a terrible idea, they downgraded and I am worried about next year. Norv Turner was terrible with the Raiders and I don't see him doing anything with the Chargers.

Yes, they will regret it and I hope that AJ Smith gets fired as a result! 9-7, possible wild card
Tomlinson will get 13-1400 yards and 18 tds. Defense will be much worse and it will be left to Rivers to carry the team. He won't.

Anyone that hires Norv as head coach eventually regrets it.
