Absolutely not. It will only help your computer run better and not change any programs. Try to do it monthly. Also do a disk cleanup.

It would not affect any of your programs other than perhaps speeding them up. Defragging actually aids your computer by taking all of the pieces of programs stored on the hard disk and shifting them about so that they are all located closer to each other. This allows the computer to be more efficient in memory allocation and using all of its storage capacity in the most effective way possible.
It is always a good idea to run defragmentation on your drives regularly (maybe once every couple weeks or even once a month).

No. Exit all other programs, run the Windows defrag (All Programs/ Accessories/ System Tools/ on my PC) and all will be well. If it's the 1st time you've done it, it may take a while. If, it says you don't need to defrag, don't bother.
Check every few months.

Nope. Defragment only does a backended organization of files. Nothing to worry about. It doesn't move where you have a file, it only changes how your computer stores them, and clears up bigger chunks of free space.

defragging doesn't touch programs. Just broken pieces of incomplete files, things like that. Its similar to cleaning up broken glass and sweeping the floor.

No, it just pack the files in an indexed order to make programs and data load faster, it does not alter how your computer are set up

Nope, defragging your computer wouldn't do anything like that. It also wouldn't alter any files either to my knowledge.

no, defragging only gets rid of unnecesary files and redirects programs to where it moved a file automatically

No, it will safely rearrange them, you wont notice a difference, other then they may open a lot quicker. If you never have done it, then it would be a very good idea to do it. it will take around 45mins to a three hours, if you haven't ran one in a while.
