We are going to Las Vegas in July. We have already booked a stay at the Luxor hotel. Does anyone know some fun things to do and see, how to get around, best shows (free or not, but no timeshare), good food etc. Anything you especially liked about your own trip to Las Vegas would be helpful. Thanks!

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years.

Thing I like best about LV
Where else can you go on vacation, and have them give you, rooms, food, booze, show tickets, free play(money), etc all for free. Then they let you win their money, AND they invite you back to do it all over again. Of course we also enjoy, sightseeing, shows, shopping, restaurants/buffets.

Next trip June 6th - July 5th(30 days)
December 16th - January 1st(17 days)>unless we stay longer :-)

.

I put this last not because it deserves to be last I put it here so that it would draw the attention it deserves. This is a great site on LV. Thanks to "Rob L"

I'm a local to Las Vegas, born and raised. You DEFINITELY need to go to a show. The best ones are Love, "O", Mistere, The Blue Man Group, Phantom of the Opera (AWESOME). Tickets will run from 85 to 200 but definitely worth the money. If you are into clubbing, Tangerine is fun or there is a really fun country club on the strip called Gilleys. Gilleys is fun even if you don't country dance (they've got a mechanical bull ;). The Bellagio water show is really cool and it is free. Shopping... I love The Venetian shops, Forum Shops inside Caesars Palace or The Fashion Show Mall (guaranteed to see a famous person there). All of the above are on or near the strip. Oh also, Fremont Street Experience is really fun.

If you want something a little more adventurous... you can go to Overton (a little town about an hour north of Vegas) and rent ATVs and take a tour of Red Rock (beautiful). Lake Mead is really close and you can also rent boats and seadoos. Um... Zion National Park is a few hours away. There are several things to do! We never get bored here!

Feel free to e mail me with any questions!

I love Vegas and I could probably write a book in response to this question but I'll highlight my top 5 things to do in Vegas.

1. In my opinion the best show out there right now is, "Cirque De Solei (Sp?) presents LOVE. It's a cirque show set to the music and times of The Beatles and it is really amazing. Tix are expensive though. The Amazing Johnathan is also one of my favorite but he's an acquired taste.

2. If you are more interested in free (and not as good) shows/attractions, you should check out the Bellagio Fountains, Harrah's Outdoor Concert Theatre, The PIano Bar, Treasure Island Pirate Show, Mirage Volcano, Stratosphere Needle, etc.

3. If you like to gamble, there are casinos that fit ALL budgets. Some of the cheaper casinos like the Casino Royale, Barbary Coast, and O'Sheas can be hours of fun with just 50 bucks - most of these casinos are also very open and friendly about teaching you all of the games they offer. If you are more of a high roller, places like the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, and the Wynn would accomodate you. There are also many hotels in between (Bally's, Flamingo, Imperial Palace, etc)

4. A lot of the hotels also have indoor attractions for when it gets HOT! One of the better ones are Mandalay Bay's Aquarium. A lot of the hotels (Bellagio, Caesars, The Venetian) have incredible shopping and indoors as well.

5. If you want to do something COMPLETELY unique and off the beaten path, you can check out The Gun Store located about a mile or so off the strip. Because of the lax Vegas gun laws, you can practice your aim with TONS of different guns at their indoor facility.

Dining...Every hotel has TONS of great restaurants. My favorite out there is SPAGO but you can find anything to fit your taste. I don't even know where to start with that. Vegas.com should also help you out with tons of great things to do out there.

We were there a year ago. Travel is by bus pass - $5 each for 24 hours, travel all you want. Bring comfy walking shoes! Many things are free - CircusCircus inside shows, water shows - several info booths (which MIGHT give you free passes to stuff). Accept a time share speech - comfy air conditioned hour of listening to their pitch and munching on their food offerings, then you will get free passes to a show.
Stop at WalGreens and get a case of bottled water and load the fridge in your room. Eat at the 99 cent place. Query Las Vegas Cheap and you'll get oodles of answers!! Take plenty of pics. Don't forget to visit Fleet Street!! (specially in the evening (after dark).

Well, the entire motels you've gotten selected are moderately virtually eachother and are on the south finish of the strip, possibly that's why you selected them. MGM Grand is considered one of my favourite motels, I obviously love that motel. The rooms have been strong and cozy, and such a lot importantly (to me) the rooms did not odor like smoke. The pool is strong, the eating places are satisfactory. I have under no circumstances quite noticeable any celebrities there besides for Kurt Thomas and I assuming he was once in Vegas given that he was once traded the day earlier than :) It is the the final give up at the monorail at the south finish and speedily connects you to the relaxation of the strip. New York New York has an strong on line casino. I love the whole lot approximately the bottom ground. I have heard the rooms have a tendency to be smaller at this motel. Mandalay Bay is strong. One of the Southern such a lot strip motels with mini monorail connecting to Luxor and Excalibur. The motel in its entirety is strong. Good pool. Luxor offers me vertigo, I will in most cases under no circumstances keep there. But the golf equipment are well. LAX is fashionable for famous person sitings. You will even see Carrot Top on any given day! : ) My decide upon: MGM grand!
