I always feel like I'm talking to a brick wall, especially when around the family...
Recently I have actually resorted to clearly talking to a brick wall just to make my point...

Not religiously but politically I run into brick walls everywhere. Most of the religious people I encounter are cool with other views as long as you are not attacking theirs. There are extremists I've known who look down on others who don't believe what they believe or even the WAY they believe, but lately they have been few and far between, though I know they're out there. If I can relate the political walls to your religious walls I can tell you that it is very frustrating, especially when you get into a fast paced heated debate and suddenly realize that you both want the same thing, you're both just taking different paths to get there. When I see that I become frustrated because that is one of the hardest things to communicate with someone of a different political or probably more so religious inclination.

Of course I talk to brick walls. They have morter (boards) and turn red so easily, and those hard muscles.... Anyway, the docs in this place say I shouldn't listen to anything but what they tell me so I shouldn't pay you any attention. Sorry, Mr. Computer.

Yes - I feel like that often - especially when I am talking to my kids and/or my husband. It is really irritating when I have spent time explaining something only to have him ask me again 5 minutes later!
