There are three more seasons of Lost (as mentioned too many times here on YA!) each 16 episodes long.
Jack's "flashbacks" were actually "flash forwards"'s. The bearded drug addicted drunk Jack is actually Jack from the future, after he and Kate (and who knows who else) was rescued from the island.

It was a flash forward of Jack throughout that episode. They have announced that Lost will end during the 2009-2010 season.
