I love our country but I tire of the obsession with "bigger", as in bigger houses, bigger SUVs, bigger breasts, bigger churches, bigger stores, bigger arguments on daytime TV and Y/A, etc. Is there ever enough for us?

It can never be enough for a society addicted to the material. As spirtual reality has been replaced with the material consumer mentality, Americans have an empty spot within themselves which just grows larger and larger. It's not unlike the heroin junky who spends his whole life looking for that first high.

Arrogance! We Americans are arrogant. We think we're better than everyone on invented everything. I'm sure we will learn one day that America is not the end all be all to the world. Don't get me wrong, I love this country and think it's great but we need to have room in our mind and hearts to admit that we don't know it all and do make mistakes!

Yes, too many Americans opt for quantity rather than quality - so much for the maxim, "Be happy with what you have!" Unfortunately, most people's lives pass them by before they get it and they really don't take the time to enjoy themselves!

homes, lack of street cafe life, a two party political system,
gun availability, an inarticulate president and the annihilation
of the English language in general.

Intolerance. Of other races, religions, cultures. There never seems to be a limit to just how much we can ridicule that which we purport to symbolize and defend.
