It depends on the state you live in. In Washington state you only need to be 16...and you do not get charged, the person over 18 does. Not many states have their age of consent at 16, however. Most states are 16 or 18. Go to www.ask.com and ask the question "Age of consent in the state of ________" and enter the state you live in.

Depends.. In Texas 17 is the legal age of consent for sex.
Most states it is 18. The person over the age of consent is the one charged. It is statutory rape.

2...we never charge the younger person....the law is made to protect the minor so if you are a 14 year old dating a 36 year old...we would punish him for statutory rape if you have sex but we don't punish you as the intent is to protect you....the other way around...how old does she have to be if I am 21?...well it depends on the state..usually 17 or 18.

I assume you mean REALLY be WITH someone, as in have sex with? If that's the case, the age of consent for girls/women varies from state to state, country to country. Most states in the U.S. require a girl/woman to be at least 18 years of age to have consensual sex. In WI a girl can have sex at 17 with her parent's permission IF she is within 3 months of her 18th birthday. Many other states have lower age requirements, but usually no younger than 16 years of age. Check with your local planned parenthood office. You do NOT want your boyfriend getting arrested as a sex offender!

they cant charge u with anything unless u have sex. der!! and if u do, then u have to be 18. unless, ur parents or anybody can file saying that theyre molesting u. consentual or not, unless ur 18, then they can go to jail. so either dont have sex until ur 18, or find somebody new.

As long as you do it in private, don't get pregnant, and don't tell anyone you can do whatever you want. The law should be "mind your own business," not "thought police." There should be a law against teens getting pregnant, not having sex.
