I enlisted in the Marines and went to Vietnam. That was a mess. No, I would not go. I learn from my mistakes. What scares the crap out of me is that my 10 year old son might have to make that decision some day. I would move with him to Canada rather than take the chance of having him come home without an arm or a leg because of some bogus cause. The last good war was WWII. My father fought in it. Two wars in the same family is enough.

I have read that the Canadian option is off the table because of agreements the Bush 2 regime has made with that government. Isn't it true you can no longer cross the Canadian border without a passport? If you try to cross, they can catch you before you even get over the border. So, what's left, Mexico? No, legally, you also need a passport now to enter Mexico or any other country. I suppose bands of protesters could hide out in the Rocky Mountains or some such place, but that might be one of the only options left.

If they reinstate the draft i would have to. I would not go willingly because If Bush decided before he left office to have a draft do you think his two daughters would be drafted? They are in our age group to get drafted but do you think he would send his daughters??

As a woman, I realize that being drafted is not highly likely (though it is not out of the question either). If it came down to it though, I would go (I'd feel more confident fighting Iran because I think that's a better cause at this point)...I'd be scared as Hell, but I'd do it.

Yes, I'd go.
Reinstate the draft?? There is not a snowball's chance in hell they'll reinstate the draft. They tried that once already, it didn't work out too well.

I would have no choice but to go but I wouldn't want to. I don't support the war in Iraq and feel our soldiers are losing their lives for no good reason at all.

Of course I would. I am on the old side (34), but if I were called, there is no way I would not go.

I wish they would let women fight this time. Women would go over there and get the job done. Women don't mess around and there would be nothing left.
