My boyfriend and I started renting this apartment back in feb. At that time we could afford it. Now at 36 weeks pregnant, I am the only one working because he just lost his job. I will not be working much and we can not affored the place. Is there something I can do to get out of it. My lease says only military reasons.... I just cant afford to live there nor can I afford to pay the rest of the lease and the cancle fee. What should I do.

Well people thank you for telling me that my amazing man needs to get a job. For your info he is doing his best but a job flipping burgers would not pay the bills. I think all the stupid people on here should not answer questions!! Thanks to those who have good adv.

Talk to your landlord and explain the situation. You could also ask him if you could sublease the apartment to someone else.

I'd let them know it's an issue, and perhaps they'll let you out of it unless they have a lot of vacancies, in which case they might be happier with reduced rent for a while than the nothing they'll get if you leave or they kick you out. If they're full, I would think they'd rather re-rent it to someone else they know can affort it than end up evicting you after a drawn-out legal process, and then trying to sue an unemployed couple with a newborn.

Of course, if you're dealing with a big corporate management company, they're probably too rigid in their policies to act in both their and your best interests by looking for a compromise.

You should start a discussion with your landlord. Your landlord has the latitude in lessen or forgive your liabilities, although they are not required to do so.

You have a bigger problem.... you will now need to find a place to live, move, then still need to feed and house 3 of you.

Tell your boyfriend to find a job, he can knock you up, but can't give you a place to live. Great Guy I'm sure.
Good Luck

get your boyfriend to get off his butt and get a job, even if it's just flipping burgers! That seems kinda ridiculous.
