I know that this might sound crazy, but how do I know if there is a ghost in my house. I get cold chills all the time and my son acks like he is talking to someone from time to time. There was one day he was talking to a person and he said his name was Mick. I asked my son where he was and he said that Mick was standing right behind me. I even asked him if Mick was a kid or a big person and he said that he was a big person. Sometimes I feel like I am not alone. And this moring when I went to go brush my teeth the toothpast was in the sink. It may have fell on it's own but I do not know.........Is this all in my head?

What are you gonna do?
Who you gonna call?
GHOST BUSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I highly encourage you to find a boyfriend and sleep together. For one, you will feel safe until those thoughts diminish, second, he will be the proof that such things do/do not exists- as in witness, third after the release you get together you will sleep like a baby instead of tossing and turning and imagining ghosts. I don't mean to sound cynical, so have a friend with you to witness everything and see if for yourself.

Good luck.

There are numerous sources that can help you. Try a quick google search and it should be able to tell you what you can find in your area.

Also, you could try a search or your address/property at your local historical society.

Spirits are generally drawn to children because of their purity.

But, keep in mind that not all apparitions are bad. From what you've written, Mick hasn't done anything bad or wrong. He just tries t be a part of things. He might just be lonely.

There are a number of steps you can take. House cleanings, seances, prayer... Personally, I wouldn't bother doing anything about it unless Mick becomes a problem.

In response to your edit- The house may only be 10 years old but who knows what the land was used for before that.

Maybe not. Just act like he's part of the family so he doesn't feel left out. I have a similar story.
My sister used to babysit for a family in a well known haunted house in Michigan. The ghost was always being bad. Opening and closing cubbards and knocking things off the tables. It was suposed to be a ten year old boy who drowned in the back yard. He even made himself appear in a mist on the window once and gave my sister the finger.
One day they heard him upstairs creating havoc and the kid who she was babysitting said, "Hey Jacob, why don't you come downstairs and watch some TV?" They didn't have any more trouble from him.

It could be in your head, or maybe Mick in an imaginary friend of your son's, but maybe not, kids and animals, can see and hear things we can't because of their innocence and openness to life. If you want the spirit to go just tell Mick, he's dead, to go into the light, that his loved ones are waiting for him and he should go and be with them and to go in peace. That should do it. Good Luck.

The renowned physic Sylvia Browne was on the Montell Williams show and that's basically what she said to do.

I had some friends that had moved into an apartment where a prior tenant had committed suicide.they would say that things used to be moved around while they were out and toys that were put away would be moved around the room.It really bothered them,so I went in the room where the suicide was supposed to have taken place and firmly said"you are not wanted here, these people would like you to leave, they are not the cause of your being, you are.So would you please leave them alone."After that they said they never had a problem again.Pretty weird don't you think?

It's actually very natural for kids to have imaginary friends. It's a part of learning how to process the world, their imagination, and their growing memory. For you, however, it is not. Do not believe in superstition, just in what is real. You can imagine that there are ghosts, it's fun. But don't believe in them.

No, Ghosts love to occupy houses with small children who are very easy to deal with. You need help from a reliable source to get rid of it. I'm not talking exorcism. Just cleansing your house of a ghostly presence.

Ghosts are energy left behind from some strong emotion and by its self harmless. The danger is sometimes demons take over this energy to escape hell temporary or it maybe the devil himself. Remember Jesus gave you the power according to your faith to chastise those evil entities. Not too many people have this strong faith, it is best to leave this task to priests. What you can do is pray to god directly and ask Jesus Christ to intervene in your behalf. Say this prayer " I am drenched in the blood of Jesus Christ and he is my savior and protector" Shout it out loud when ever you have those ugly feelings.

you could do some research on your house, maybe it is historical or the land that it is on. There are also paranormal groups out there that would come to do a reading (with sci-fi equipment) if you contact them.
